Buyer/Planner

Procures a broad range of component parts, materials and services.  Sources material and manages suppliers to fulfill production requirements in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in business field with two years related experience or a combination of three to five years education and experience in purchasing material and production planning using an ERP/MRP system.
  • Computer experience to include proficiency with ERP systems (Syteline preferred) and MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and prioritize work to complete assignments in a logical and efficient manner.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and strength in effectively communicating with others to build positive working relationships.
  • Ability to anticipate the implications and consequences of situations and take appropriate action to be prepared for possible contingencies.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reach creative solutions to satisfy objectives.
  • Ability to analyze, develop, and propose strategies that will help the organization be more effective, competitive, or otherwise achieve its goals.
  • An enthusiastic self-starter with a strong drive to improve existing processes is highly desired.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance immediate/long term priorities and exceptional multitasking skills are a necessity.

 

CAD Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a creative problem-solver to design and develop complex electronic equipment, using M-CAD/E-CAD tools. The CAD Mechanical Designer creates complex designs from schematics and input from design engineers and serves as librarian for our eCAD libraries. In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with Electrical Design Engineers and Mechanical Engineers to produce complex PCB designs ensuring that manufacturability is maintained in each design.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or commensurate applicable experience
  • A working knowledge of or demonstrated interest in gaining knowledge of ASME Y14.100M: Engineering Drawing Practice and ASME14.5: Dimensioning and Tolerance
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word) or similar, M-CAD: AutoCAD Design Suite (Inventor) and/or E-CAD: CADstar preferred but not essential
  • Strong communication skills, to be able to interact with interdepartmental personnel and customers
  • Math skills including addition, subtraction, decimals and fractions sufficient for dimensioning, math associated with electronic circuit theory preferred
  • Good organizational skills, self-motivated, creative, attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and a willingness to learn

 

Electrical Design Engineer

Designs, develops, improves and tests new or existing custom electronic products from concept through production. Interfaces with customers on requirements and provides technical proposals in response to requests for quotes.

Qualifications:

  • BSEE or BSEET
  • Engineering skills to include analog design with preference to power supply design experience
  • Experience with resonant converters at greater than 1kw considered a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
  • May require travel in support of sales and/or products

 

Electronics Assembler

Assemble electronic assemblies and subassemblies by hand soldering components such as resistors, capacitors, transformers and connectors onto printed circuit boards and connect wires to the assemblies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 2+ years experience handling electronic assembly and components including hand soldering of components preferred (J-Standard soldering a plus)
  • Recognize components and determine polarity
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, decimals and fractions.
  • Able to read blueprint and BOMs
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask

 

Electronics Coating Technician

Epoxy and/or coat completed electronic and magnetic assemblies by bonding components and wires with chemicals or compounds.  Mask assemblies with adhesives and spray or bush on protective coating.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Related experience/training in an electronics manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to read assembly drawings and procedures
  • Ability to measure and work with chemicals, including alcohol, and follow chemical recipes
  • Depth perception, close vision, color vision are required
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask

Work Environment:

Must be able to lift and move objects up to 10 pounds regularly. Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time. Must be comfortable working around chemicals and odors.

 

Engineering Manager

Responsible for managing and coordinating the work of highly skilled engineering staff, placing particular emphasis on project management within the department.  Supervise day to day engineering functions and support sales functions with heavy involvement in customer interactions.

Qualifications:

  • BSEE required, with preference to MSEE
  • Engineering management experience required.
  • Engineering skills to include analog design with preference to power supply design experience and/or military COTS power supply experience; strong preference to military design including COTS and EMI.
  • Software development experience preferred including digital electronics design experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
  • May require travel in support of sales and/or products.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask.

 

Production Supervisor

Supervise and coordinate activities of staff engaged in manufacture of components or finished goods of electronic assemblies.  Plan flow of work within department to ensure that customer deadlines are met.  Establish work procedures to meet production schedules.  Establish and maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent in technical field, BS degree in Engineering or related field preferred
  • 5+ years experience in manufacturing/production of electronics including supervision/leadership role
  • Strong technical skills in electrical and electronics
  • High customer focus and respect for lead time and delivery deadlines
  • Proven knowledge of how to implement process controls in production in order to deliver high quality product with lean principals (Six Sigma, Lean or 6S) in mind
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills as well as computer skills including ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel and Word)
  • Proven ability to strategize, communicate, and lead improvement initiatives (cost reduction, quality and efficiency) to gain buy-in at all levels and drive execution of plan
  • Must be hands-on with ability to troubleshoot
  • Able to read and write business procedures, general business periodicals, manuals, design documents and other correspondence

 

Sales Engineer

Develop and maintain mutually beneficial business relationships with all customers.  Provide technical guidance and conceptualization in supporting new sales opportunities of ACT products and services.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS required with technical degree strongly preferred (BSEE) or a combination of commensurate education and experience.
  • 5+ years experience selling to military defense subcontractors and higher end industrial accounts preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell technical capabilities as well as technical hardware solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to arrange face-to-face meetings with new and existing customers.
  • Working knowledge of the design and manufacture of electronic/electro-mechanical components and power supplies and of their general system applications.
  • Working knowledge in an ISO9001 or AS9100 environment.
  • Strategic thinker and planner with a demonstrated ability to keep the ‘big picture’ in mind while working in depth to great detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self starter who functions effectively with limited direct supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
