What Is a Modified Off-The-Shelf Power Supply?
MOTS power supplies are modified, ruggedized power supplies designed to meet the demands of military applications that are typically derived from commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products. The main advantage of a MOTS power supply is its adaptability. These systems are designed to allow easy modification by the manufacturer. As a result, military-off-the-shelf products can be made to meet a wide range of stringent environmental and performance requirements, including MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, and MIL-STD-1399.
