PRESS RELEASE
PRESS RELEASE Middletown, PA, December 2008 - ACT has doubled its floor space to over 60,000 sq. ft. by expanding its existing building. This doubling of floor space supports the steady growth that ACT has achieved for its custom AC-DC, DC-DC and high voltage power supply products used in COTS and military applications. This additional floor space was specifically designed to strengthen ACT’s vertical integration strategy by allowing expansion of its metal working and fabrication capabilities, along with increased assembly, electrical and environmental test capabilities.

PRESS RELEASE Middletown, PA, June 2006 - Advanced Conversion Technology, Inc. (ACT) has developed a modular 440 Vrms, 3 phase, 60 Hz power supply that meets the Navy’s shipboard input power requirements as defined by MIL-STD-1399. The active PFC front end enables this power supply to meet the 3% input current harmonic distortion and the transient conditions of MIL-STD-1399. Using a modular construction the power supply produces up to 18 output voltages with over 6kW’s of output power. An integrated digital overlay utilizing RS-232 and USB protocols provides a high level of flexibility and control. Additionally, this 440 V power supply provides the bulk power for a number of remotely located VME type power supplies and through the digital overlay can monitor and control these VME power supplies. Internal energy storage provides in excess of 100 msec. of holdup time, at full power, which can eliminate the need for an external standby power source. For additional information contact us.
PRESS RELEASE 440 VAC, Single Phase, Off-Line, 1.5 KW, Active PFC Front End Converter Middletown, PA, July 2005 - Advanced
Conversion Technology has developed a circuit topology that operates
directly off the 440 VAC (50 to 400 Hz) power mains. This topology
eliminates the need for a large, heavy multi-pulse step down transformer and
includes an active PFC front end that insures low harmonic distortion, at
any load level. With an output voltage of +270 VDC efficiencies greater than
85% are achievable. Input to Output Isolation is achieved magnetically and
optically.
PRESS RELEASE Middletown, PA, October 2004 - Advanced Conversion Technology, Inc.'s new 9 kW ruggedized Power Processor series meets MIL-STD-461E requirements. This 19" rack mounted, 4U, modular PFC bulk power supply converts 115 V single or three phase AC input power into a +150 VDC output voltage bus in 1 KW increments. By selecting the appropriate number of 1 KW modules users can economically optimize their system power requirements and provide multiple approaches to implement N+1 redundancy. This architecture has been developed to provide system users with a method to upgrade their systems when electronic devices, such as computers, become obsolete or need to be upgraded. The +150 VDC bus allows users to insert any device into the system that contains a universal PFC power supply. Additionally, ACT's Power Processor modules isolate these devices from the AC input power, which virtually eliminates the EMI issues that can occur when new or upgraded devices are inserted into a system. Each module provides in excess of 70 msec. of holdup time at full output power allowing the system to execute a smooth bus transfer. In many cases this hold up time can eliminate the need for a battery backup system. A variety of additional modules have been developed for this series including a wide selection of DC output voltages and sine & square wave inverters. |
